YOU HAVE BEEN MADE RIGHTEOUS

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21
When you truly understand, believe and receive the love that God has for you, you will be surprised that there is nothing that you will request of the Lord that He will deny you. This is because you will be approaching Him from a different perspective and a different standpoint.

One of the major hindrances that I have found out that makes it difficult for believers to receive what God has already promised is the fact that we approach Him based on our merits. We come in our own merits. We try to tell Him all the good things we have done. It’s not wrong to do good things. There is nothing wrong in living right, in working for the kingdom or in labouring. We ought to do all that. That is what righteous people do. And according to our text, we have been made righteous. We were made righteous. It is a gift. So, righteous people do righteous things.

Righteous people don’t steal. They don’t kill. They don’t commit adultery. They don’t fornicate. They don’t do all kinds of evil. They are not drunkards. Righteous people live for God: They are quick to forgive; they love their spouses. Righteous people work in the kingdom. They are involved in different aspects of the ministry. Righteous people give offerings. They make donations and they pay their tithes. Righteous people do righteous things, while sinners sin.

Don’t expect a sinner not to sin. He will sin because he’s a sinner. It is just like telling a chicken to give birth to a lion. Is that possible? It’s not possible because it is a chicken. Chickens lay eggs. It is natural for chickens to lay eggs. It’s natural for a fish to swim because it lives inside water. Bring the fish out of water, it will die after a few moments. Praise God, you have been made righteous through Christ Jesus. Now you can live right and do right.
