UNDERSTAND WHAT THE BLOOD DID FOR YOU

UNDERSTAND WHAT THE BLOOD DID FOR YOU
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

“In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace;” (Ephesians 1:7 KJV)

What Christ accomplished through His shed blood is the heart of Christianity. If Jesus did not shed His blood, then we have nothing to glory in. You are alive because Jesus shed His blood for you.

Many people sing about the blood of Jesus and at times when we pray, we shout the blood of Jesus. We talk about the blood without understanding what the blood did for us and how to apply it to our lives. You can shout all you want, but it will not become effective in your life if you lack an understanding of its working power.

Without the blood, you cannot be saved. Without the blood, you cannot be redeemed. Without the blood, there would have been no Christianity. But He shed His precious and spotless blood for a reason. When they put the crown of thorns on His head, blood was shed. The scripture tells us that while He was praying in Gethsemane blood was shed. Scripture also tells us that when He was nailed in His hands blood was shed. From His feet and from His side, blood was shed.

There were specific reasons why this blood was shed and it applies to our case. There is a life we ought to live called the kingdom life, and there are things that you ought to have by reason of your position in Christ. Therefore, when things in your life are contrary to that which Jesus has accomplished for you, never tolerate it. Don’t be complacent and just accept it as the norm. Command that contrary situation to get out of your life.

When you truly understand what the blood has accomplished on your behalf, you will be able to stand your ground. When the enemy wants to plant sickness on you, you will say no. Christ shed His blood to take away sickness and disease. He shed His blood to redeem you from the curse into a blessing. He shed His blood to redeem you from shame and lack.
