“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105 (KJV)
Negative thoughts and feelings will lead to negative decisions. There are lots of people who have taken the wrong decision just because of what and how they felt at the moment of decision.
Child of God, we are not supposed to be carnally minded. The book of Romans 8:5 says, “for they that are after the flesh, do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the spirit; for to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace”. In other words, carnally minded people talk and walk by sight. They walk by feelings and by what somebody has said. Don’t you realize that feelings are subject to change? The way you feel about something is based on the information you have about it. If you want a life of peace, then think the word of God. The carnal mind is enmity against God because it is not subject to the law of God.
What does it mean to walk by sight? This happens when you walk by what you see, what you hear, what you taste, what you smell, and what you touch. If that is the way you walk, you can never please God. You cannot because you are not walking by faith. The just shall live by faith. To be carnally minded is death because those that are in the flesh cannot please God. As a believer you are not in the flesh, you are in the spirit because the spirit of God is inside you. Right inside you is all that God is. It’s already there. Don’t let your feelings determine the decisions you take. Let every decision of your life be taken based on what God said. Not what man said nor what somebody influenced you to say. The truth is that every one of us has his or her race in life.
Don’t let your decision be guided by your feeling or by the feelings of others, but by God’s word. The word of God is the sure guide that can never mislead you.
