THE POWER OF CORPORATE PRAYERS
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Sunday 20th October 2024

“Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?” Ecclesiastes 4:9-11 (KJV)

In the place of prayers, we take hold of heaven’s resources. In the place of prayers, we take hold of heaven’s advantage because we are entitled to divine advantage in Christ. In the place of prayers, we are telling heaven to be involved in the earth’s activities.

Corporate praying is fundamental to our Christian faith. So, I encourage you to get involved in corporate prayers. You can’t win alone! No one wins alone! No one succeeds alone! Even God taught us that from the beginning. “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness ….. (Genesis 1:26 KJV). Notice that God didn’t say let me! God was teaching us that, at times, we need to collaborate with other people.

Corporate praying is part of our culture as Christians and believers. You can never lose when you get involved. Therefore, don’t take it for granted when you are called for corporate prayers. Don’t say, “Well, I have done my praying”. You will miss many things if you fail to participate in corporate prayers. There is power in corporate praying. There are certain things you cannot receive when you pray alone.

You see, the will of God is that every one of His children will be blessed. But not all of us are at the same spiritual level. And so, if we are all not on the same level and don’t have the same understanding of the scriptures, how can those of us who are young in faith receive the same result?

In the place of corporate prayers, we assist ourselves. Where I am weak, you are strong. You assist me, and together we will win. It is about working together for a common purpose or benefit.
