SPEAK OUT OF THE ABUNDANCE OF THE WORD IN YOU
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Tuesday 7th June 2022

“generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.” Matthew 12: 34-35 (KJV)
What your heart is filled with, is what you will speak and what you speak determine how far you go in life. You must, therefore, ensure that you give quality attention to what you allow into your heart. God put the universe into motion through his words. He spoke words and He uphold all things by the word of His power. In the beginning when the earth was without form and darkness was upon the face of the deep, God spoke out of the abundance of His heart.

“And God said, let there be light: …” (Genesis 1:3 KJV). God spoke out of what was inside Him. He spoke light because there was no darkness inside Him. Today, my question for you is: What is inside you? This is not the time to allow negative words to proceed from your lips. No corrupt communication should come out of your mouth. Speak life! Don’t speak death!

Never mind what the world is saying. This is the time to exercise your faith in the midst of the storm. Jesus spoke life in the midst of death. No matter your challenges, speak life and you will see God come through for you. He is too faithful to fail you! He is dependable. Those who trust in Him can never be disappointed.

Don’t allow fear to rule your heart. Many are feeding themselves with the lies being spread around in social media. Don’t join them to feed on lies. Remember that it is what you feed upon that will be in you. And you will always speak from the abundance of your heart. That is why the Word of God encourages us to give attention to the scriptures. “my son, attend to my words, incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.” (Proverbs 4: 2021 KJV)

Once the Word is in your heart, you can then begin to speak from the abundance of the Word of God in you. The Word has no margin for error. The Word has something to say about every area of human life. This is what you must constantly declare.
