REST

“And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.” Genesis 2:21-22

The real proof of the fact that we believe is Rest. So many claim to believe, but are going about anxious for one reason or the other, and so it begs the question, do you really believe? In the natural, when the CEO of a company tells you that he has instructed his Human Resources department to contact you for employment, there are few things that happen. You rejoice at this knowledge, and thank him for this. You expect their call or email. When the interview is being conducted, you are relaxed knowing that this is being done as a direct directive from the CEO and simply a formality because the CEO has spoken. If you believe the word of a mere man so much, how much more should you believe when the Creator of the Universe gives His Word?

Beloved when God gives you a promise, He is not just telling you what He is going to do, He is telling you what He has already done on your behalf, and so your part is to thank Him for it and rest knowing that He has the capacity to bring the Word to pass.

What I see daily is the exact opposite. Even among believers, there is so much anxiety everywhere, tension and stress. Beloved, this is not God’s plan for you. It is time to carry out some assessments and ask yourself some pertinent questions. Do you believe, or are you just going about playing church?

Child of God He watches over His word to perform it. If He has spoken it, He will bring it to pass. He wants you to Rest in Him. He says my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. You must understand that if you are anxious, stressed up, staying up, then God will not step in. It took Adam falling asleep for Eve to manifest. Rest in the finished work of Christ and trust Him to fulfill His promises to you. He is a promise keeper.
