“For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:17 (KJV)
You cannot reign in life without Christ. You cannot experience the fullness of what God has done for you in Christ if you are still hung up on sin. Reigning in life is predicated on you receiving what has been done. It is not about your own work. Until you receive, you cannot reign in life. Until you receive God’s unearned and unmerited grace, you cannot reign in life. Your assignment is to receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness. It is not to be earned but received.
In addition to receiving it, you must also make bold to declare it. When you acknowledge your righteousness in Jesus, you show your appreciation for what Christ did for you and put the devil where he belongs. Each time you say you are the righteousness of God in Christ, you are saying you are in the right standing with God. The simple confession of this truth builds boldness in you and gives you access to all that God has in store for you. You become like a child who knows that all that his father has belongs to him. You are able to move from room to room boldly and without fear. In like manner, when you begin to walk in this revelation, your Christian life and experience become enjoyable and fulfilling.
At this point, you know that whatever you ask your Father in Heaven will be granted. You may not see the manifestation immediately, but you know you already have it. So, you are not intimidated. Wake up every morning and declare that you are the righteousness of God in Christ. And pretty soon, you will see all His blessings gravitating towards you. Don’t allow the devil to rob you of your joy. Be rest assured that the land where you dwell has no choice but to yield its goodness to you.
