REBUKE THE VOICE OF THE STORM
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Monday 26th September 2022

“And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:39 (KJV)

The storms of life speak in different areas of your lives. And many times you will hear the voice asking you: Now that everything is fallen apart around you, what are you going to do? The voice of storms comes in different ways. You can begin to hear such voices like: “You are not going to make it out of this hospital. I’m going to ensure that you die on the theatre table. You will never find another job. You will never pass the examinations. Let me see how you are going to get another job. Don’t you see that this marriage is not going anywhere? Your business will never expand. It has come to an end for you. Let me see how you are going to bounce back. You are finished. This situation has finished you. You are not going to ever make it”

All these are voices of the storm that are speaking to you. Yes, you have wonderful ideas but where are you going to get the money? Where are you going to get the capital to start? And it keeps on speaking interminably. You’ve been in this relationship for so long, what have you gained from it? Don’t you see that no one likes you? These are the types of voices you hear each time from the storms of life you face and it’s always very loud. Louder than any other voice around you. Everyone is talking about you, so you better run away. Don’t even continue. Quit! You are a failure and you will never amount to anything…

Beloved, when the storms of life begin to speak loud and clear, understand that it is as a result of where God is taken you. Therefore, refuse to listen to the voice of the storms. If you must silence the voice of the storm, you must not repeat what it is telling you. Rebuke the storm! Speak the Word to it! Every storm bows to the authority of the Word.
