PUT YOUR EARS DOWN

“For we have heard how the LORD dried up the water of the Red sea for you when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed.” (Joshua 2:10 KJV)
The book of Joshua Chapter 2 talks about Rahab, the professional prostitute. She was known all over Jericho. Rahab was not a lady to be touched. But notice what happened in Joshua 2:9 (KJV) “And she said unto the men, I know that the LORD hath given you the land, and that your terror is fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land faint because of you.” She said, “I know”. She wasn’t thinking or pondering, she knew. Out of all the people in the entire land, the only person who knew what God was about to do, was a prostitute. Her ears were on the ground. Listen again to her. From our text, she said, “For we have heard…”
Rahab said I have heard of the awesomeness of your God. I have heard that this God is not like the heathen gods. I have heard that your God is the LORD Almighty and that is the God I want to serve. She asked big from them, not just for herself but for her entire household. Her faith was big. She asked for preservation for herself, her father, mother, brethren, sisters and everyone in her household. She got them all saved in a day. She heard and she delivered herself. Jacob heard and because he heard, he connected back to his son whom he thought was lost. Not only that, he was able to see his grandsons. The sons of the same boy that was said to be dead.
Proverbs 8:34-35 (KJV) tells us, “Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the post of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.” Child of God, who are you listening to, who are your ears connected to? What you hear can either bring deliverance or keep you in bondage. It is your choice.
