PURSUE GOD’S PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Sunday 28th August 2022

“By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;” Hebrews 11:24-25 (KJV)

Beloved, you cannot be comfortable with your comfort zone any longer when you discover God’s purpose for your life. Moses, with all the comfort of Egypt still felt something was missing. When Moses discovered his purpose, he was not willing again to stay in Egypt and he exiled himself to the backside of the desert.

He was not willing any longer to continue doing anything in Egypt. Then he ran to the backside of the desert tending the father-in-law’s sheep.

He was satisfied with the tending of Jethro’s sheep and cattle but that was not God’s purpose for his life. And so, one day God came and revealed Himself to him, and Moses was literally drafted.

Moses never asked God to be called. He never asked to be the one to deliver God’s people. In fact, he gave all manner of excuses to God so that He can look somewhere else but God said, you are the one that will go to Pharaoh to bring deliverance to my people.

Pharaoh became a terrible taskmaster to God’s people after Moses delivered God’s mandate to him.

The children of Israel themselves told Moses when they were entangled between the Red sea and the chariots of Pharaoh that: you came to us and said God sent you to deliver us. You told us that God showed you diverse signs and wonders to give you assurance. You convinced us and we followed you, now look at what you have done. But God showed up supernaturally for Moses and the children of Israel because His plan and purpose can never be frustrated.

Sometimes when you don’t understand God’s purpose for your life, the tendency to ask questions and want to give up at the crossroads of life appears to be the only option. I encourage you never to give up. Keep standing until God’s purpose for your life is accomplished.
