Peace In The Storm

“And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?” Mark 4:37-38 (KJV)
In this account, the boat was filled with water. The wind was terribly against them, and the disciples were in great distress and fear. However, with all that was happening Jesus was deeply asleep. How could this be possible?
The answer is in what He said before they embarked on the journey. ‘’ Let us pass over unto the other side’’ He did not say ‘’Let us go into the midst of the sea and drown.’’ He’s going to the other side was a settled issue. His words will not fall to the ground. It was not up to a debate. No matter the stunt the enemy pulls, the word is out “let us go to the other side”. That was what the disciples were yet to understand. They had not come to terms with the authority He had over all the physical elements. They had not realized that, though man, He is Lord of all; both spiritual and physical.
Jesus, on the other hand, understood He had authority. So, He had peace because He believed His word and rested in it. Child of God, you also need to come to the same understanding. You need to know that there are both spiritual and physical benefits of being a child of God that covers every area of life.
If you are encountering a storm today, your coming out will be determined by what comes out of your mouth. Jesus, our Keeper, neither slumber nor sleep. He has assured us that He will never leave or forsake us, but we need to believe the word and stand on the word knowing that He will bring you out of it.
He will keep you in perfect peace as you keep your mind on Him.
