LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

As we celebrate the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, the greatest gift we can give to Him in appreciation of His love to us is to be the light in our world. Inherent in every believer is the light, but like Jesus had a choice, we also have a choice. We must choose to let the light in us shine in our world.

I know that it is getting darker and darker in the world. That is why I always say that this is the finest hour of the Church. The darker the night, the brighter the light. All truths are parallel, think of it: if you enter a dark area, with a little light, you make a difference. The same thing in the world. It is becoming more difficult to find men and women who can be trusted, so be trustworthy. When people are cutting corners and blaming it on the economy, choose to remain forthright. Let people see Jesus in you and seek your God.

The challenge with believers today is that they want to live like the world and yet be different. You cannot be different when – the world changes figures, you do the same; they lie, you lie, they cheat you cheat, they arrive late for appointments, you do the same. How then can your light shine? What will they see in you to desire the God you serve?

Is it not an indictment when people who have lived or worked with you for years cannot give a good testimony of you, not because they want to be mean, but because there is nothing good to say about you. If your life is no different from that of the world, then you are crucifying Jesus again and again. When Jesus called you to Himself, He desired that you will be an example of Him to your world. If that is not happening, then you are not a good ambassador of Him.

I therefore challenge you today to realign with the word of God. Lean totally on Him, rest in the finished work, declare it over and over until you become one with Him. Let His light in you shine to your world.
