HOW TO LEVERAGE ON THE SACRIFICE OF JESUS

“According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:’ 2 Peter 1:3 (KJV)
The million-dollar question is: “How can the believer practically make the most of what Jesus did for us? The way to leverage on Christ’s sacrifice is to take hold of the lavish gifts that His death, burial, and resurrection provided for us, and appropriate them to our different areas of need. Not appropriating the benefits is synonymous with having, for example, a cheque of one million dollars which you received from your benefactor, and in the same breath, you are complaining of lacking food, shelter, mobility, and the basic needs of life. Child of God, what are you waiting for? Go cash your cheque from the bank and meet all your needs! Everything that we require for life and godliness has already been provided through Christ. It is our responsibility to accept and receive the healing, the prosperity, and all the blessings. The price has been paid on your behalf. So, take that which belongs to you.
However, to enjoy these benefits that Jesus paid for; you must know exactly what belongs to you. The late great evangelist of old, Charles Spurgeon shared a story about a visit he paid to a poor old woman. This woman lived in abject poverty in a dingy home, without electricity, and food. During his visit, he saw a framed document on the wall across the room and went ahead to read it. Apparently, the woman had been left a will. She had been bequeathed a great wealth by a rich woman who she served. But unfortunately for her, she had no idea of what she had because she couldn’t read and write. And so, she suffered through life due to ignorance.
Beloved, you cannot afford to be ignorant of God’s promises if you are going to enjoy the blessings of God. You must know what your inheritance is to enjoy it. Get into the Word and take that which belongs to you. This is the way you leverage the finished works of Jesus.
