HIS SACRIFICE IS ENOUGH

“But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us”. Hebrews 9:11-12 (KJV)
Jesus is not going to die again. He died once to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, but not to deal with our sins. Some people say all sorts of things. Some say that He is coming to deal with us and to judge us. And others say not many people will go to heaven. Christ is not coming to deal with our sins because that has been dealt with already. He is coming to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him. Are you waiting for Him? Then, don’t be afraid. Wait for Him with joy and expectation.
Christ came and nullified the old sacrifices which were not powerful enough to take away sin. Since God did not want animal sacrifices for the sin offering, Christ came to offer His body for sin.
Jesus canceled the first covenant in other to put the second into effect. For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time. Through His sacrifice, we are made holy. Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins, but our High Priest, Jesus offered Himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins.
Afterward, He sat down. That is what He is doing now. He didn’t sit down because He was tired. He sat down because it is finished. He sat down because His sacrifice is enough! He sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. There He waits until His enemies are humbled and made footstools under His feet. That is our assignment. Let’s go and get this job done. Let’s go and put these enemies of God under His feet. We have been authorized to do so.
