GODLY WISDOM WILL DISTINGUISH YOU
Bishop Mike Okonkwo

“For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.”
Proverb 2: 6-7 (KJV)

My challenge with many believers today is that we think we can do things the way the world does and still shine as light. This is wrong! You cannot beat the world’s system by using their own tools. Jesus said, “…the children of this world are in their own generation wiser than the children of light.” (Luke 16:8). To beat the world’s system, you must operate on a superior platform. You need the wisdom that only God gives. Godly wisdom will distinguish you.

It is God who gives wisdom. God is the source of all wisdom and knowledge. He is wisdom personified. The book of James 1:5 says, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” You have an assurance that whenever you ask God for wisdom, He will give you. It is part of the rights and privileges that accrue to you as a new creation.

God stores up sound wisdom for the upright. This is not wisdom that is common to everyone. This wisdom has been stored up and reserved for God’s people, you and me. Sometimes, you are faced with complex issues, and you need to resolve them. The good news is that there is wisdom that God has reserved for you to resolve that seemingly complex situation because you are a child of God. Even at your office, when it seems like you are at a crossroads, not knowing which way to turn, and everyone is looking up to someone to give direction, always remember that God has stored up priceless wisdom for you. So, you are in a position to proffer solutions and give direction to the company for the benefit of everyone. You will need to access this wisdom. If it were common, everyone would have access to it. But it is not.
