GOD DESIRES INTIMACY WITH YOU

“And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, where art thou?” Genesis 3:9 (KJV)
Over the years, religion has taught us that God is quick to turn His back on us, especially when we do something wrong. So, we have become very distant from God and will rather relate with God from a distance. The truth is that God desires intimacy with you even more than you desire to be intimate with God. From our text scripture, after the devil deceived man to sin, Adam and his wife heard the voice of the Lord walking in the garden in the cool of the day and they both went to hide from the presence of the Lord God because they knew they had disobeyed God. God called Adam and said to him, where art thou? This is our Holy God seeking Adam who had just sinned against him. It shows that God is hungry for intimacy with His children. God wants a robust fellowship with man that He created.
God was asking Adam, where are you? Where are you running to? Why are you stressed? Why are you depressed and frustrated? Why are you anxious? Where are you? Adam said I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked, and I hid. Do you know that this is really the condition of a lot of people today? Fear of what to eat, fear of tomorrow, fear of school fee, fear of survival, fear if my marriage will survive, fear I am going to die without a roof on my head. Fear all over the place. Why? Because no more intimacy with God, the source.
Enoch had a robust intimate fellowship and relationship with God. He was just enjoying God. He was not walking with material things, but with God. Genesis 5:24 says “…and he was not”. What that phrase means is that he was not stranded, disappointed, in want, not sick, not fearful, not seized by the devil and he was not a failure with life. All these were because Enoch walked with God. These are more also your portion if you begin to walk with God.
