GIVING PAYS

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” Luke 6:38 (KJV)
Giving is one aspect many people shy away from, but beloved, living is all about giving. I know that many have been taught the concept of hoarding, but it is not biblical. God has not called you to hoard, but to give.
Sometimes I know people have been confused by various doctrines going on in the world today. Some people have been deceived and robbed of the blessing of tithing. I have come to challenge you to be a giver. John 3:16 is so clear: for God so loved the world that HE GAVE…One key attribute of love is that it gives. Like I said last month, you can give without loving but you cannot love without giving. Giving is a major part of your walk with God.
Do we give to get? NO! The believer does not give to get. God is not a money “doubler”. So, you are not sowing your seeds in the church because God will double or quadruple them back to you. No. You give because you love God. You give because of the great things He has done for you. You give in appreciation, but the good thing is that God is not a debtor, each time you give to God, you throw open the gates of heaven for a blessing.
I have said it repeatedly, I am glad I am a tither. I started out tithing 10% of my income, but today, I have gone past 10%. I give God more. Do you know why? It is because you cannot outgive God. Every time you give, God gives back to you in good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. That is why givers never lack. If you have been deceived to stop tithing, I encourage you to get back to it. If you have been deceived to stop giving in the church, I encourage you to get back to it. I am living proof that giving pays. If I am to document my testimony, I will write in volumes the blessings I have received from giving. Don’t stop giving.
