“For this is how much God loved the world—he gave his one and only, unique Son as a gift. So now everyone who believes in him will never perish but experience everlasting life.” John 3:16 (TPT)
Today, the world is getting aware of love languages and the fact that we are very different in the way we understand and express love. As I shared with you a few days ago, God is love and all these languages find their root in Him. One of the love languages is Giving and this is exemplified in the way God showed us His love.
Our scripture for today is a very popular one, almost everyone can recite it off hand, but that shows the expression of the love of God for humanity. He loved us and showed it by “Giving”. It has been said that you can give without loving but you cannot love without giving. What are you prepared to give to this God that loves you so much? He gave you His best in Jesus and His all in the Person of the Holy Spirit, what are you prepared to give to Him? If you understand His love, giving of your finances, time, and talent, will not be a big deal. You will give willingly.
In the same vein, what are you prepared to give to the man or woman that you love so dearly? We all value gifts differently but that does not mean we all do not love to be blessed. If giving is not your primary love language, it does not stop you from buying gifts for your spouse, children, parents, and those in your life that have been a blessing to you. Go out of your way and be a blessing to those who have made an impact in your life, show them love by giving and you will be glad you did.
Yes, we all love gifts but in different proportions, take out time and understand the love language of your spouse and relate with him or her at that level, it will help you build a stronger bond between both of you and by extension, your entire household.
