EVERY CHALLENGE HAS AN EXPIRY DATE
By Bishop Mike Okonkwo

Friday 27th September 2024

“And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age:” and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.” Luke 1:36 (KJV)

The fact that you are serving God does not mean that challenges will not come. That is the more reason why challenges will come up against you. Therefore, it is vitally important that you feed yourself with the word of God because when challenges come, what you have inside you will determine whether you will float or not. 1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us that there is nothing you are facing today that someone has not gone through. Nothing! There is nothing you will pass through that is new. Some people have been through similar situations and come out of them. There are also those who went through it and sank into it because they did not apply themselves to the word.

Zachariah and Elizabeth kept on serving God. They refused to allow the things they were going through to determine their position in God. You see, God is awesome! A problem that had lasted for many years eventually ended one day. Your challenge will not last forever.

While Zachariah was in the presence of the Lord, an angel of the Lord appeared unto him and said to him, fear not. You cannot be in God’s presence and go without. Something supernatural has to happen. He was in unbelief and was struck dumb so that he would not abort the miracle.

The same angel came to Mary to announce the expiration of Elizabeth’s barrenness. He told her: ‘In case you don’t know, I have already visited your cousin, Elizabeth. So, Mary, in case you are still wondering how it is going to happen because you are still a virgin, for your information, I have already overruled doctors’ reports in your cousin’s house. The one people called barren is now pregnant.’

Beloved, the God who took away the reproach of barrenness from Elizabeth, is still alive. He will visit you and settle you.
