DON’T LOSE YOUR JOY

“These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full”. John 15:11 (KJV)
The question I want to ask today is what do you do when you are going through great contradictions in your life? You are anointed and yet things do not appear to be going right with you. What do you do? It is important that we look at the example of David in the bible. It was not the idea of David to be anointed; it was God’s own idea. David was forgotten and rejected at the backside of the desert and the scripture tells us in 1 Samuel Chapter 16 that no one gave him any chance. When Samuel was told to go and anoint a king in the house of Jesse and he got there, all other sons of Jesse came out to be anointed but none of them was accepted because God had zeroed in on David. Even though God has zeroed in on him, no one invited him for the anointing service.
I know that there is a David that is reading this devotional right now and I want you to know that God has zeroed in on you, you have not been forgotten. Men may have forgotten you, fathers and mothers and relations may have forgotten you, but the God that we serve has not forgotten you. God has a plan for your life and I want you to be encouraged that that purpose shall be accomplished. They may forget you, but God will lift you up.
David was anointed king and the hand of God came upon him from that day forward. You would have thought that since that had happened that David should automatically begin to rule in Israel. But that was not to be. He had to go through a wilderness experience. Many of us are not ready for a wilderness experience in our lives. David had such an awesome experience which led to the writing of the Psalms. David taught us so much because of all that he went through. Your life can also be a point of reference like David.
