DON’T DRAW BACK

“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.” Hebrews 10:38 KJV
The just, in other words, every believer and the born-again Christian shall live by faith. In today’s text, God is saying that if you do not live by faith, He is not going to be pleased with you. In other words, if I want God to be pleased with me, I must be ready to live by faith. That is why it is important to know what faith is. You must know if you are living by faith or not. You must pay the price to know how to exercise your faith. The Word says: the just shall live by faith. If any man draws back from living by faith, God will not have pleasure in him. God will not be pleased with that person.
Beloved, you are not part of those who draw back, who fail to live by faith. They draw back into perdition or destruction. They draw back from what they were expecting. They draw back and fail to receive results. They draw back and did not inherit the promise that was made on their behalf. In other words, they did not continue to live by faith.
But we are of them who believe to the saving of the souls (verse 39). Do you know what that means? That does not mean that you have just received Christ. No! It means you are now a believer. You have received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. You live by His Word. When it comes to the Word of God, every argument is lost as far as you are concerned. You have, once and for all, settled it that what God says concerning you is who you are. You are not arguing about it, nor discussing it. It is once and for all settled. In other words, any other thing that presents itself before you as a circumstance is not acceptable; God’s Word becomes the final authority. That is what it means to be a believer.
