DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR FOR THE ENEMY

“Neither give place to the devil.” Ephesians 4:27

The back of the enemy has been broken by reason of the finished work of Christ on the cross of Calvary. So, fear not! Death has no more power over you because you have passed from death into life. Death has many brothers and sisters. Sickness is death! Disease is death! Poverty is death! Pain is death! Divorce is death! As a matter of fact, anything that causes you discomfort is death. The devil’s leasehold has not stopped on earth, but all his power has been stripped. Every power he has had been taken from him. He is not a lion or a bulldog; he is just like a roaring lion. The best he can do is to roar, he cannot bite.

According to Isaiah 14:16, when we shall see him, we will say: “………..Is this the one that made the earth to tremble and did shake kingdoms?” So how does he operate? He uses the instrumentality of fear. For instance, when they are sacking people from their jobs and you say: “They are going to sack me also”. Fear comes in, faith departs! And so you open the door for the enemy. Fear is a door! The devil moves in and soon, you begin to confess termination, instead of confessing your promotion. The result is that rather than expecting God’s goodness, you are expecting a termination letter and then it comes. You give the credit to the devil without realizing that he only used you against yourself.

That is how the devil works and so he steals your joy. You are no more hopeful. You suddenly forget that God is on your side. And that if God be for you, no one can be against you. Consequently, the devil comes and grips you on the shoulder. You have been delivered but you opened the door for the enemy. That is the same way he comes with sickness, with barrenness, with disappointment, with fear and with death, so give him no room! We walk by faith, not by sight.
